Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is the most visible portion of the Berlin Police Department and must be professional and fair. Patrol is responsible for identifying criminal activity, investigations on any charges that are lesser than felonies and initial investigations on felony charges and apprehending offenders. Patrol is also responsible for the prevention of crime, aiding individuals who are in danger of physical harm, facilitating in the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, creating and maintaining a feeling of security in the community, promoting and preserving the peace, and for providing any other emergency services. The Patrol Division is comprised of 4 Lieutenants, 3 Corporals, 7 patrol officers, 4 Special Enforcement Officers, 4 Auxiliary Officers, and 2 Part Time Officers.
