Downtown Tax Incentive - Chapter 19 - Development

April 2010

Community Revitalization Tax Relief Incentive (Downtown Tax Incentive)

On April 2, 2007, the Mayor and Council of the City of Berlin, in their effort to assist and encourage the rehabilitation and revitalization of its Downtown Zone, passed the attached ordinance known as the Community Revitalization Tax Relief Incentive. If your building/property is located in the Downtown Zone, future improvements made to your property may qualify for this incentive.

Please take time to read the attached ordinance and get acquainted with its requirements and potential benefits to you. There is no specific time limit on this incentive. The City hopes that this new incentive will encourage any plans you may have to rehabilitate and revitalize the downtown building you currently own.  Please call to discuss with us your intentions before you begin construction.
