City of Berlin Residential Passes are available at the City Hall Registrations/Finance Office:
- Free Permit: A current vehicle registration obtained in the City of Berlin is required to receive your Free residential permit. Only one free permit per household once a 'calendar year' is allowed.
- The Free Permit includes a white copy(your receipt) that never expires which can be used for a limited list of items. It also includes a yellow one-day pass which can be used in the Landfill Container Designated Drop-off Area for other items.
- Purchasing additional permits: A current vehicle registration obtained in the City of Berlin is required to purchase the standard AVRRDD quadruple form which includes a white copy(your receipt) to be used for a limited list of items, and 4 additional colored one-day passes to be used at the Landfill Container Designated Drop-off Area for other items. Each household may only purchase one every '12 months'.

Tire Permits: Tire permits are given at the request of the resident. Residents are allowed to dispose of up to four (4) tires per registered vehicle for free. Additional tire permits are available for a fee.
Refrigerator, Air Conditioner, and Dehumidifier Permits: Separate permits will be issued for Berlin Residents desiring to dispose of items containing refrigerants. The cost for disposal of each item is $10.00.
Household Hazardous Waste Day: The AVRRDD District sponsors a Household Hazardous Waste Day annually, the first Saturday in June. (Transfer Station will be closed for regular business on Household Hazardous Waste Day).
