Berlin Route 16 Riverwalk Project Needs Your Input

Berlin City officials are kicking off the Route 16 Riverwalk project on June 5 at the Planning Board meeting scheduled for 7:00 to 8:00pm at City Hall. Berlin citizens and business owners are encouraged to come learn about the new multi-use riverwalk trail planned for construction along the Androscoggin River on upper Main Street. The project area will span from the Service Credit Union Heritage Park to the Twelfth Street Bridge, consisting of approximately 4,000 linear feet on property owned by the City alongside the river.

The City has hired HEB Engineers and Ironwood Design Group to design the riverwalk trail, which is funded in part by the NH Department of Transportation and Northern Borders Regional Commission. Jay Poulin, President of HEB Engineers, will be in attendance to provide an overview of the project and answer any questions.  During the meeting, he and City Officials welcome public input and concerns as the project officially begins.

This is the first of two meetings that will be held to collect citizen input and suggestions regarding trail placement and desired amenities.  Berlin locals are encouraged to participate in the discussion, as citizen input will be given consideration in the final project design.
