Lead and Copper Rule Revision
BERLIN WATER WORKS
OFFICE OF THE WATER COMMISSION
55 Willow Street, Berlin, NH
Public Notice
Berlin Water Works would like to inform its customers that the US EPA has implemented a federal drinking water rule effective December 2021. This rule revises, updates and improves upon the original Lead and Copper Rule (LCRR) of 1991.
The LCRR requires community water systems to develop and submit an inventory of service line materials, both utility and customer-owned sections, within the water system’s distribution system to the NHDES by October 16, 2024.
In order to comply with this rule, Berlin Water Works may contact you to request access to your home and/or ask for information to help identify and confirm the material of your service line.
For more information, please see the links posted below from both the US EPA and the NHDES.
